Description
This odd-looking plant is not a giant asparagus (I wish) it is a Butterfly Agave.
This is not the Tequila Agave plant. Tequila is distilled from the Blue Agave plant.
Agaves are succulents with large thick, fleshy leaves with most species ending in a sharp terminal spine. The spine on the right is young and fast growing. The left spine is fully mature and is seeding the next generation.
There are around 208 species of the Agave plant.
