California Poppies 2019 Ends
It’s wildflower season in Southern California. Vegetation and flora is exploding everywhere.
My favorite place to see Poppies is the Antelope Valley Poppy Reserve. We had the best rainfall in over 10 years producing and this has produced a “Superbloom” of poppies (and weeds).
The area around the Poppy Reserve is covered with an orange carpet as far as the eye can see… hill tops and valleys.
It’s the third week of April and the 2019 Poppy season has come to an end… pray for rain in 2020.
I hope you enjoyed this rare "Superbloom" of spring 2019.

I am a retired Information Technology Project Manager located in Santa Monica, California. I’ve loved photography and started taking photos in the late 1970s. With a full time, job, I had little time to enjoy my passion for photography. I will shoot anything (with Canon or Sony) that produces an emotional reaction. I'm self-taught and began to take my photography seriously in 2006. Retirement has given me an opportunity to follow my grandson and shoot photos of him playing basketball and having some of my photos published in sport magazines. Welcome to my gallery, enjoy my photos presented for your viewing pleasure and purchase. Thanks Gene “PapaG” Parks All images are copyright by Gene Parks. All The materials contained...
