Allensworth State Historic Park, Allensworth, California
Hindsman General Store Interior
Zebedee and Saran Hindsman opened the general store in 1911. It became the largest store in Allensworth and the towns longest lasting business, serving the community for over 35 years.
Items for sale included bulk and canned foods, clothing, tools and small luxuries such as cookies, fruit and candy.

About Gene Parks
I am a retired Information Technology Project Manager located in Santa Monica, California. I’ve loved photography and started taking photos in the late 1970s. With a full time, job, I had little time to enjoy my passion for photography. I will shoot anything (with Canon or Sony) that produces an emotional reaction. I'm self-taught and began to take my photography seriously in 2006. Retirement has given me an opportunity to follow my grandson and shoot photos of him playing basketball and having some of my photos published in sport magazines.
