About Gene Parks
I am a retired Information Technology Project Manager located in Santa Monica, California. I’ve loved photography and started taking photos in the late 1970s. With a full time, job, I had little time to enjoy my passion for photography. I will shoot anything (with Canon or Sony) that produces an emotional reaction. I'm self-taught and began to take my photography seriously in 2006. Retirement has given me an opportunity to follow my grandson and shoot photos of him playing basketball and having some of my photos published in sport magazines. Gene - I've traveled the back roads of California for the past years in search of amazing barns to shoot. I don't know why I have this obsession of preserving the image and memory of these beautiful buildings, but I do - and now I see you have the same obsession so I feel - not so crazy and not so alone!
