Description
The sun and clouds combine to produce a vibrant pink, red and golden sunset glow. The clouds and glow extend far to the south-west beyond Catalina Island 26 miles in the distance.
This is very rare, the intense evening glow is usually far to the north-west (to your right) over Point Dume and the Santa Monica Mountains.
Santa Monica Pier is an iconic Southern California landmark with an amusement park that has a ferris wheel, roller coaster, restaurants, and other entertainment attractions.
The Pacific Wheel was the world's first solar-powered Ferris wheel introduced in 1998 and was selected "Best Solar System" by Reader's Digest in 2006.
